EU foreign chief threatens China with decoupling

the relationship between EU and China has crashed to the ground. the damage is done beyond repair.
EU trade dificit with China has reached an unsustainable level. EU foreign chief Josep Borrell accuses China of not doing fair play, threatening China with decoupling (german: Abschottung),
Meanwhile USA and Australia are promoting relationship with China. Europe the fool again.

Yeah, what about Germany has one of the largest trade surplus in the world, unfair trade too ? Why didn't Germans complain China didn't impose high tariffs on German products when Germany had trade surplus with China before. Now, China has trade surplus becos many German products are not competitive in China, so it's unfair trade, lol. Want to talk of fair trade eh, just a bunch of hypocrites and sore losers in EU.

So, you people in EU like Von der Leyen president of EU Commission, think China should sacrifice its national interest with Russia to keep its relationship with EU ? Lol, She is totally delusional and hubris lady doesn't know what EU is.
Well, China can have cheap oil and gas from Russia and stay neutral in the war between Ukraine and Russia instead.

Meanwhile USA and Australia are promoting relationship with China. Europe the fool again.
Europe is rich. They will survive. Ireland has a GDP per capita $100,000. Lets see who will go hungry to bed in 5y.

Are you being dishonest here or simple ignorant? Everyone knows the reason why Ireland's GDP is large, it's because of their preferential tax treating with foreign MNC's. And being a tiny nation, it easily inflates their per capita numbers.

Do you assume everyone here is ignorant?

Good for EU.

What inflated? $100,000 is real. There are more countries with that GDP per capita. Luxembourg, Lichtenstein, Swiss, Norway. Other have the close figure Netherlands, Danmark. They will survive total trade wars with Russia, Iran, China, North Korea. ASEAN will be the winner.

Are you not aware how Ireland makes money from foreign MNC's (including likes of Apple) due to Ireland being a tax heaven.

Quotes from official FDI information from Ireland.

The stock of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Ireland was €1,217bn at the end of 2021. FDI in Ireland was 285% of GDP at the end of 2021, more than 4 times the EU average.

Why do you think is that? Read and understand before you make another response.

you are dense. Ireland cooperate tax is 12.5 percent, compared to 15 percent in Germany, 26.5 in France. The difference between Ireland and Germany is not big. If just about tax rate, the lower the better, then those hightec can go to Dubai. Or Vietnam. We only have 5 percent tax for hightec companies.

It's hard to argue with certain people. Direct from wikipedia:
Foreign-owned multinationals make up a significant percentage of Ireland's GDP. The "multinational tax schemes" used by some of these multinational firms contribute to a distortion in Ireland's economic statistics; including GNI, GNP and GDP

EU is as relevant as a joker in today's world. All talk, and no show.
What do they have? Germany car industry that's getting wiped out by China in next decade. They are even behind India in terms of digitization, forget the likes of China. They don't have strong military. Without US, it would get defeated in no time. The only company of relevance is Airbus. I could say ARM, but UK is not from of EU now. The only software company of any relevance is SAP (another joke :cheesy: ). Nokia/Ericsson can't even compete against ZTE in 5G without govt support, forget about Huawei.
The best part - they leaders are idiots. Simple maths, who is going to lose more?

China's GDP is already more than EU.
On top of that, China's growth is way higher (5.4% vs 0.8%).

There is an old English adage -
cut the nose to spite the face

👆That's EU for you.

A leader of a country once said “I don’t care the goose is white or yellow, what matters is the goose lays golden eggs.”
Irland was very poor now gets rich because of influx of multinational companies and rich people. Do you think they care of irrelevant things written in wiki? Of course Irland is a tax heaven. But low tax rate is too little to lure rich companies and rich people.

China and the West decoupling can be real.

The West is seeing China as the biggest threat for their civilization and world domination.

The crisis can be escalated quickly just like the case of Russia.

And WW1.
