Its already discussed in another thread , that is F-7s fuel tank tested on JFT.

And here I had to engage in lengthy debates that Mach 2 is highly probable in the future.

@GriffinsRule @Knuckles @Chak Bamu @araz

That said, I remember Chak Bamu talking about sleeker fuel tanks, and here they are. They look smaller in capacity, so I wonder if its going to be a speed vs range compromise?
Mach 2 capability means nothing, the pilot will have to climb very high and jettison it all to clean config. A dive might achieve it but it has to be clean.

This jet is at Peshawar. Was heading out for a sortie a few days back.

Unless size wise these are different or capacity for example mirage has 600 liter supersonic drops tanks and f-7 480 or rounded to 500 liter supersonic drop tanks

So these are just f-7 tanks being verified on jf or new super sonic tanks for jf with different capacity ?? Not sure [emoji848]

Is it possible for thunder to have a center line fuel tank of decreased fuel capacity lets say 350 litres but u can have hard points on the sides of the fuel tank to carry runway bombs or small diameter bombs etc.
If i am not mistaken i saw similar concept on mirages.. Plz do correct me of i am wrong here.. Anyways.. Is it doable?

What if they are not fuel tanks ? They are pretty small to carry appreciable volume of fuel. What if they are a deception only ?
hmm

deception for who? the crew on the ground? the crew should be on the same side. and while on ground these jets are kept miles away from general public.
the only chance is to get a few second glimpse as they take off and land and someone is looking up at the right place and time

mind the speed and height of these planes. the cross over is only split of a second and enemy would be hardly concentrating on them and other areal r engagements are done from miles away

so I wonder who and how will someone get to see if they are fake or real?

Looks smaller than the ones being used currently

So will the plane now carry less fuel? And does this new tank permit the plane to fly faster? :what:

They might be thinner, but longer..so the capacity won't change..

NOTE: This is speculation on my part.

Taken at face value, I deduce this implies a higher gauge pressure, meaning more fuel stored in smaller volume. Bigger payloads would cause higher drag, hence the need to reduce drag elsewhere.
And more inertia during maneuvering but an adequate size would not only benefit but should help with landing clearance as well. The on board computer takes care of that but sometimes it should take the extra room of clearance into account.
